Rubbish mounts up in Sevilla [4,500 tonnes] as refuse collectors strike over pay and working hours

Rubbish mounts up in Sevilla as refuse collectors strike over pay and working hours: BINMEN are on strike in Sevilla and already over 4,500 tonnes of litter has built up in the street.

Rubbish collectors downed tools a week ago over plans to cut their wages by five per cent and change their working hours around.

Since then, 25 wheelie-bins in the city have been set fire to by people who disagree with the strikers' actions.
