Man extricated from fertilizer elevator equipment at Frick Services : Portage News

Man extricated from equipment at Frick Services : Portage News: PORTAGE | An employee of Frick Services, 800 Sun Drive, at the Port of Indiana has been airlifted by Memorial Medflight to South Bend Memorial Hospital after being extricated from a piece of equipment at the business.Portage Fire Chief Tom Fieffer said the department was called shortly before 10 a.m. to the company for a man trapped in a fertilizer elevator.When they arrived they saw the man's left arm caught in a conveyor belt. Firefighters used hydraulic extrication equipment and electric saws to cut away materials around where the man's arm was caught to free him. He was extricated from the equipment by about 11:20 a.m.
