Man beating doctor leads to strike at İstanbul hospital

Man beating doctor leads to strike at İstanbul hospital: The father of a child circumcised at Bayrampaşa State Hospital on Friday assaulted a doctor who asked him not to raise his voice in the hospital, an incident that prompted hospital staff to go on strike as a response to violent attacks against hospital personnel in Turkey.

Following his son's circumcision, Serkan Gndoğdu waited to take the boy to another floor in the hospital for further treatment. He began shouting at hospital staff when the nurse who was meant to accompany him to the next floor arrived late. A surgeon, Korkut Belli, present when the incident took place, asked Gndoğdu to not raise his voice as he was in a hospital. But the man responded with a violent attack on Belli.
