443 rescued in mine accident - Globaltimes.cn


All but one of the 444 miners working underground when a colliery flooded early Sunday morning in East China's Anhui Province have been rescued reported the China News Service.

The flooding occurred just after midnight, when 444 miners were working underground at the Taoyuan Mine. Only one miner was reported missing after a head count showed that 443 miners had been brought to the surface. The mine is operated by the Huaibei-based Anhui Huaibei Mining Group, according to the Anhui Provincial Administration of Coal Mine Safety.
