 HAYWARD — An industrial worker was struck and killed Tuesday morning by a big rig backing up to a loading dock, police said.

The employee, identified as Xiaobon Cheng, 56, of Union City, was pronounced dead at the scene, Krimm said.

Officers were called at 9:10 a.m. to Keeco LLC at 30736 Wiegman Road for a report of man who was bleeding, said police Sgt. Eric Krimm.

When officers arrived they learned that a big rig with a trailer backed up into a loading dock and fatally struck Cheng, who worked at the business, Krimm said.
