Scaffolding collapse blamed on heavy wind gust in Howell | Livingston Daily | livingstondaily.com: A scaffolding collapse destroyed a streetlight Wednesday morning along Grand River Avenue in downtown Howell.A section of scaffolding at the Heart of Howell project fell around 10:15 a.m. in a heavy gust of wind.No one was on the scaffolding at the time, Heart of Howell developer Joe Parker said, because workers were checking on a utility pole that had just fallen behind the site."Workers told me (the wind gust) must have been 50-60 mph," Parker said. "I don't know if it was that speed, but it must have been something to snap a pole and topple a piece of scaffolding."
