One in five imported fireworks are 'too dangerous' to sell - DutchNews.nl -

DutchNews.nl - One in five imported fireworks are 'too dangerous' to sell: Almost one in five fireworks imported into the Netherlands for sale to the general public failed to meet safety standards, according to a report by government inspectors.

The main problems inspectors identified are inflammable packing, fireworks which fall over easily and fireworks which go off too quickly, broadcaster RTL reported.

This year 18% of imported fireworks were rejected on safety grounds, down from 21% last year and in 2010. Over the past eight years, on average one in four fireworks is considered too dangerous to sell.
