Carrying the load | ERGOdynamics of Eugene sees demand for powered lifts, carts

Carrying the load | ERGOdynamics of Eugene sees demand for powered lifts, carts: As the focus on preventing workplace injuries has shifted from white-collar to blue-collar occupations, a 26-year-old Eugene manufacturing company has shifted its product line to meet the demand. “Everyone has ergonomic desks and computers now,” said Myrlin Deveraux, founder and president of Eugene-based manufacturer ERGOdynamics. “The trash dumper is our future.”
Lifting heavy trash containers and depositing their contents in a Dumpster can strain backs, shoulders, arms and necks, and as a result, janitorial work is currently one of the top three occupations for work-related injuries, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
