BBC health and safety ban on Xmas trees | The Sun |

BBC bosses have been accused of being Scrooges after banning staff from putting up Christmas trees.

A worker who brought in three firs was told to get rid of them because their lights had not passed safety tests.

All staff were then forbidden from having trees of their own.

A source said: “You’d think they’d have more important priorities with the fall-out from the Jimmy Savile scandal than to bother about staff bringing in Christmas trees to brighten the place up.”

The move at the refurbished £1billion Broadcasting House building in central London follows similar bans on waste paper baskets, microwaves, kettles and folding bikes.
