Worker Dies at Quarry

Worker Dies at Quarry: A 70-year-old man has died while working at a quarry. It happened around 1:30 Thursday afternoon at Staunton Lime. Police say 70-year-old Donald Reese died after being trapped in a rock crusher. A rock crusher is used to crush rocks into smaller pieces, usually for gravel or some other road or building application. The Staunton Lime Company is federally regualated. Anytime there is an accident or even death on site, the company has to report it to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. A check of online records shows that in the last ten years, except for Thursday, there had been no deaths at the Staunton Lime Company.
