Italian Scientists Convicted of Manslaughter in Earthquake Case: The BBC is reporting that six Italian scientists and a former government official have been convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to six years each in prison for giving false reassurance to the public prior to the L'Aquila earthquake. The quake killed 309 people.
