MF&RS Incidents: Firefighters are tackling a fire in part of a three storey disused industrial unit.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 6.59am on Monday December 17 to Pool Lane, Bromborough.
Five appliances were requested to help with water relay and supply and personnel to tackle the fire at the corrugated steel building which had been used in the past as an electrical switch room. The room measures 20 metres by 10 metres.
The fire involved a quantity of cables on the first and second floor. Two main hoses were used to tackle the blaze from outside the building.
By 8.45am firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were carrying out damping down operations and checking for hot spots.
One appliance from Bromborough Community Fire Station, one from Birkenhead Community Fire Station, two appliances from Wallasey Community Fire Station and an aerial appliance from City Centre Community Fire Station, which has a platform on the end of an extendable arm where a hose can be directed onto roof fires, attended the call-out.
