Cockle committee told 'health and safety' still issue with catching poachers - Dumfries and Galloway Standard: The fight against illegal cockling on the Solway reached the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday.
Police and local politicians gave evidence to the rural affairs committee which is looking at new legislation.
But Dumfries Constabulary’s Chief Inspector, David McCallum, said health and safety issues had hindered officers catching poachers.
