Violence at Kalinga Nagar Tata plant as worker killed: Tension mounted in the Tata Steel plant at the Kalinga Nagar industrial hub in Jajpur district after a worker was crushed under the wheels of a truck of the plant near the weighbridge on Friday.
A large number of agitated workers of the plant set the truck and the security check-post ablaze at the main gate of the plant.
Kalinga Nagar police station Inspector-in-Charge KC Munda said, “The deceased worker, Barun Sethi (23), son of Raghunath Sethi, was killed when a truck hit him. After his death, hundreds of agitated workers torched the truck and the security post. Police rushed to the spot to control the situation.”
