Lift company fined for outdated risk assessment (From The Northern Echo): A LIFT company has been fined �4,000 and ordered to pay �5,000 in costs after a health and safety breach emerged during an investigation into the death of 92-year-old woman who fell down a shaft.
Judge Paul Sloan said Derwent Lift Services, based on Greencroft Industrial Estate, in Annfield Plain, near Stanley, County Durham, could not be held responsible for the death of care home resident Elizabeth Young.
