Eighth worker in hospital after gas accident - National News - Independent.ie: AN eighth person has been hospitalised after an incident involving chlorine gas at a chemical plant.Seven staff at Chemifloc Ltd, a chemical manufacturing plant at Smithstown in Shannon, Co Clare, were initially hospitalised after the incident involving the bleach sodium hypochlorite.However, another worker brought themselves to the A&E department in the early hours of yesterday morning.The incident happened at around 4.45pm on Thursday while workers were loading a consignment of the chemical.
