Worker Hit by Plank While Using a Table Saw - WSH

Workplace Safety and Health Council: At the time of the accident, a worker was cutting a plank (measuring 2.7 m long x 8 cm wide x 5 cm thick) using a table saw. He was pushing the plank against the revolving circular blade of a table saw while two co-workers stood opposite him to receive the cut work pieces. After the plank was cut into two, one of the work pieces suddenly recoiled and hit the worker in his abdomen. He died three weeks later.
