A teaching assistant has been paid out a total of £800,000 after tripping over a wheelchair.
Lancashire County Council paid damages, plus £140,000 in legal costs, after the employee tripped over the waist strap of an empty wheelchair while trying to move it, a Freedom of Information request has found.
The employee, who cannot be named for legal reasons, dislocated a finger and suffered an injury to an elbow.
