Explosion Rips Through Dutch Electrabel Power Plant; No One Hurt | Fox Business: PARIS/AMSTERDAM--An explosion early Thursday at a 600-megawatt-capacity power plant in Nijmegen, Eastern Netherlands, prompted police to briefly warn the public to remain indoors with windows and doors closed, but GDF Suez SA (GSZ.FR) said no one was injured.
The coal- and biomass-fired plant belongs to the French utility's subsidiary Electrabel, which shut it down while Electrabel and the fire department began investigating the cause of the blast, police spokesman Frank de Valk said.
