Fire station to face the axe under cost cutting plans (From Times Series): Mill Hill fire station has been earmarked for closure by the capital’s fire service as it prepares for dramatic cuts in its annual budget.
London Mayor Boris Johnson is demanding London Fire Brigade slashes 64.8million over the next two years and the service says fire station closures are unavoidable.
The London Fire Authority has produced four detailed plans to deal with the impending cuts - two that would save 25million by the removal of front line services and two more that would save 50million.
